I personally obtained my doctorate in record time at Grand Canyon University: a record that is still held today. While most take an average of 7-10 years to complete their doctorate, I finished mine in 2.5 years. What did I focus on? Words. Yes, words. I focused my research on the statistical significance between how succinct a student writes and how it can predict graduation success. This topic is tied to what I BELIEVE, but now have also proven to be true, which is that communication skills is the superpower in our ability to influence others.
I currently serve as Doctoral Faculty at GCU and have helped 10+ students graduate with their doctorate. I lead with empathy and grace and support. Each of my graduated Doctoral students have gone on to do amazing things like leading organizations in countless roles that tap into their research, such as Millennial leadership, proactive coping skills, military leadership transition to civilians and much, much more.
